The Donor Run will form part of the 2024 Westfield Health British Transplant Games’ sporting programme
Saturday 3rd August 2024
The 2024 Donor Run supported by University Hospital Coventry & Warwickshire, will help raise awareness of the NHS Organ Donor Register & benefits of Organ Transplantation, the Anthony Nolan Register while paying tribute to the Donor Families who have given the gift of life.
More than 8,000 people in the UK currently need a transplant, sadly 3 people die each day waiting for a transplant.
About Transplant Sport & University Hospital Coventry & Warwickshire Transplant Sport and University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire Charity (UHCW) are the Official Charity Partners of the Donor Run.
UHCW was founded in 1996 and to date has raised millions of pounds helping thousands of patients and their families. It is the registered charity for UHCW NHS Trust (inc. University Hospital, Coventry and the Hospital of St Cross, Rugby) and Coventry & Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust covering local mental health, learning disability and community services, for more details visit https://www.uhcwcharity.org/.
Transplant Sport are the largest national charity promoting active recovery for transplant recipients and increasing awareness of the benefits of organ donation. We actively promote the importance of more people telling their family and friends they wish to donate, so that families do not refuse to give consent because of a lack of knowledge.
