Newport welcomes you to the 42nd edition of the Westfield Health British Transplant Games which will take place across the city from Thursday 25th July to Sunday 28th July.

Located on a riverfront setting, Newport is a vibrant, multi-cultural, and forward-thinking city steeped in a rich industrial heritage conveniently located just off the M4.
Newport is no stranger to hosting major events. 

The city has a growing reputation for sporting, national and international events. Highlights have included the Ryder Cup, NATO Summit, Olympic and Paralympic training camps, VELOTHON Wales, Tour of Britain, Admiral City of Newport Half Marathon and the ABP Newport Wales Marathon. The city is home to one of the four professional rugby union regional Welsh rugby teams, ‘Gwent Dragons’ and Newport Rugby Club as well as the EFL League division Two football team, Newport County AFC.

In August 2019 Newport also hosts the British Youth & Junior Track Championships.

The British Transplant Games will make use of some of the outstanding facilities across the compact city including the Newport International Sports Village, home to the Geraint Thomas National Velodrome of Wales, Celtic Manor Resort and Rodney Parade.
The Games will also shine a light on the hard-work, dedication and talent of the doctors and nurses who work in hospitals across the region who bring hope to families and individuals from all over the UK undergoing transplant surgery.
