About Nottingham

Welcome

Nottingham, a green city with a legendary past, a vibrant culture and a bright future. A creative destination of rebels and pioneers, and the home of Robin Hood. Nottinghamshire is one of the UK's top destinations, and a warm welcome always awaits.

Nottingham is a city in central England’s Midlands region. It’s known for its role in the Robin Hood legend and for the hilltop Nottingham Castle Museum and Art Gallery, rebuilt many times since the medieval era. In the Lace Market area, once the centre of the world’s lace industry, the Galleries of Justice Museum has crime-related exhibits.
Wollaton Hall is one of the country’s finest Grade I listed Elizabethan buildings with the largest dedicated Natural History Museum in Nottinghamshire. Herds of deer and a range of wildlife roam 500 acres of parkland at Wollaton, which is home to all kinds of habitats, including grassland, wetland and woodland.

Nottingham is a major sporting centre and, in October 2015, was named 'Home of English Sport'. The city is served by Nottingham railway station and the Nottingham Express Transit tram system. Its bus company, Nottingham City Transport, is the largest publicly owned bus network in England getting you anywhere you need to be!
